3 Ways To Add

LI: to learn quick ways to add
Today I made a DLO of 3 ways to add. I had 3 ways to make adding or subtracting faster. I picked adding because it was easier. The first thing we did was try to figure out ways to add two numbers. We did it on the whiteboard. So then we had to do the same thing on our netbook then we blogged about it.

LI: to learn how to bat
The first thing we did was greet Ash who was our Kiwisport Teacher. Then Ash told us the batting position.

Batting Position
  • Legs are shoulder width apart
  • Hands together holding the bat
  • Bat on you shoulder that you throw with
  • Knuckles aligned
  • Eyes on the ball

So after that Ash taught us how to play Skatter Ball. First she got us into Batters and Fielders. The batters lined up to bat the ball. So how we played was whoever was in the front had to bat it as far as possible so they could run in an arch and run around as many times, while they run the Fielders have to get the ball and put it on a cone. We switched roles one time so the Batters would become Fielders and the Fielders would become Batters. Then we played another round but this time while the Batter runs around the Fielders had to pass the ball to each other while trying to put the ball on the cone. Then we played two rounds and then said Goodbye.

This vs That

LI: to learn about the Olympics

Today we did a comparison of the Olympics and Panmure Bridge School. We compared the two motto's. We compared the the creed of the Olympics and our school's Whakatauki. We compared the Olympic Flag and the PBS Logo. We also did the Olympic values and our school's value. We had to research the Olympics Flag, Creed, Values, and Motto but we had to figure out our school's Whakatauki and Motto.

Little Boat Recount

My Writing Journey

LI: to plan and write a imaginative recount
Today we made a imaginative recount. What we did was watched a video and then we had to make a imaginative recount of that of us in 1st person as that character or thing. Mr Wong made a Google Doc for us to write in for the Imaginative recount.  The video we watched was a boat floating around the world. We had to be that boat, we were in 1st person.

LI: to encourage people
Today we went to Kiwican with Mr Matt and Miss Lily (Kiwican Teacher) and started off with a Energizer. The game we played was called the Animal Game. We had to get in a circle and Mr Matt would go into the circle. He pointed at people and said a animal, and the person he was pointing at had say what noise the animal made and had to do the action. For example if Mr Matt pointed at me and said Tiger I would shout "Raar" and put my hands up and make them claws. We also did a Buffalo then added a Snake. The Buffalo was saying "Moo" and pointing you fingers up next to your head. Snake was just "Ssss" and wiggling yourself at the same-time. We played two rounds the went into our session we were talking about Encouragement. So after that we played Clap Jump. We had two taggers and they would have to get us when Mr Matt Of Miss Lily clapped. The rule was you had to jump away from the taggers when the clapper claps. If you move when the clapper doesn't clap you are eliminated. If you got tagged by the tagger you are out.  Then we played two rounds then got into a GKQ (General Knowledge Question). Then we finished and had our points rounded up and we got a 19/25. Later then we left for Morning Tea.
