Auckland Museum
LI: To learn the teachings of our tupuna (ancestors) and the history of New Zealand's native people and their land.
Before going to the Museum we had a challenge or a quiz for the trip, and we had to complete it and find out the answers during the trip. It was like a scavenger hunt. Throughout the day we added extra questions as there were too much people figuring out the answers too quickly. At the end of the day we went from 6 to 10 questions. Winning this quiz would result in getting a prize.
When we first got into the museum we were introduced to the museum and the rules. But firstly we had morning tea before adventuring the place. Ngarimu, one of our advisers taught us a lot of the weapons and equipment used from the Maori. We then had Kingi, another one of our advisers taught us about the meaning of the carvings in the marae, and taught us about the Treaty of Waitangi. After we had a bit of exploring we went for lunch. After lunch we learnt the Ka Mate Haka and 7 different Taiaha moves.

Making Dinner for you Family (Silver Respect)
LI: to make dinner for your family
For the Silver Respect Care Award one of the activities were to make dinner for your family. So for dinner I made Fried Rice. In the fried rice I had sausages, eggs, green beans, peppers to add a kick. I also put some soy sauce which also gave it some flavors. I also added Kimchi as a side dish, with the Fried Rice. Above you will be able to see the dish I made.
PBS Collage (Silver Respect)
LI: to make a PBS Collage
For one of the Silver Care Award Respect activities I had to make a collage of PBS. For this activity we were challenged to make a collage of PBS. On my collage you can see different photos of what PBS has done all together. On it you can also see I have written down our school name, as well as the Manaiakalani motto, which is Learn, Create and Share. It means whatever we learn, we will the create it into a DLO, and then share it out.

Thank You Letter (Silver Respect)
LI: to write a Thank you letter to a teacher or staff member
For one of the activities for the Silver Respect badge we had to write a thank you letter to a teacher or a staff member. The thank you letter I wrote was to Mrs Anderson, who teaches in Learning Space 2. I wrote to her because she has been really challenging me and has helped me so much in a short span of time. In the short span of time she has taught me so much.
Respected Leaders (Silver Respect)
LI: to research a Respected Leader
For one of the activities for the Silver Respect Badge we had to research about Respect Leader. A respected leader is a person who is responsible, and is well respected. The Respected Leader I researched on was Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela was one of the South African Presidents, and was protesting against Segregation. Segregation is the separation between people with different races or colour.
Aretha Franklin: Respect (Silver Respect)
LI: to research Aretha Franklins Respect
For one of the activities for the Silver Respect Badge, we had to research the song RESPECT by Aretha Franklin. In this DLO (Digital Learning Object) I am talking about what the song meant, and what Aretha Franklin wanted to represent. Aretha Franklin was a famous music idol back in the days and was really good at what she was doing. When she released her song RESPECT, many people wondered what Aretha Franklin was trying to say.

For this activity we researched on someone who has a positive attitude despite face difficulties in many ways. I picked Sophie Pascoe who is a Paralympic swimmer who has a physical disability. Sadly when she was little she had to get her leg amputated because she got her leg ran - over my a lawn - mower. But that hasn't stopped her from being one of the best swimmers in the world. Sophie Pascoe has won many gold medals an awards.
Public Health Nurses (Silver Attitude)
LI:l to learn about public health nurses
For my first silver confidence care award activity I've done an explanation on why Public Health Nurses are so important. They are so important because they keep the kids healthy, so they can come back to school and learn. They really care, so they come down to every class to see if any kids have a sore throat, or rashes and more. They also have a Medi - Cube which is a space they use to help and care for the kids.
