Design Challenge

LI: to design and label your ultimate gaming setup and controller

To continue our Distance Learning we had created a designing challenge from our topic on Fortnite this week. We designed our gaming setup collaboratively, in our setup we chose a simple gaming PC setup. It was cool to be able to design our own setup with our friends. It was fun and interesting ot do as we got to research different companies that produce the equipment needed in a gaming setup.

Decorating the Tree

LI: to decorate the office Christmas tree

The purpose of our Design Technology challenge was to create a set of Christmas/Holiday decorations that represented our school and the people in it. We were given a design brief from Mr Johnston and a delivery date. To celebrate the end of this challenge LS2 delivered their completed decorations to Mr Johnston, then hung them on the tree in our school office. It was really cool to see our holiday decorations hanging on the School Christmas Tree.

Design Technology Challenge

LI: to make holiday decorations

This term for Inquiry we were doing Design for our topic. The purpose of this long journey was to make a holiday decoration for the schools Christmas tree. At the end we evaluated the design process and design. On the evaluation we answered questions such as positives and improvements, did it meet our design brief and such. This helped us show what we could've improved on next time, and what we should keep doing. In my evaluation the designs I created suited most of the criteria and look pretty nice. But I feel like I could've make the design bigger, made the stitching more even, and centered the shapes.

Design Process Flowchart

LI: to learn the design process

For Inquiry this term we were learning about Design. We learned about a bunch of different vocabulary about Design, like client, production, development and such. This term we had to make holiday decorations for a Christmas tree for our school. These holiday decorations could be Christmas, Hanukkah and more. But we first had to learn the process of designing these holiday decorations. So we learned, listen and took notes of the design process from Mrs Ferguson from Tamaki College. Our task was to make a flow chart of the Design Process which is kind of like a loop.
