LI: to recall core skills and knowledge for addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and place value
We recapped what we learnt in Term 3. We recapped our learning by doing a quiz. We added & subtracted time & decimals. We also recapped on our times tables & basic facts. We also did division and grouping. We also calculated area and perimeter. There was a shape and the measurements were on there so we had to calculate it. You calculate the perimeter by adding all the sides together, and you calculate the area by multiplying the height & width. We also recapped on our fractions by sharing fractions, identifying fractions, and fractions of sets.
The strategies we used were using our basic facts. Tidy Numbers which is making the numbers to make a ten. Place Value is adding them by the place value. Repeated addition & subtraction is splitting the numbers and doing it step by step. Algorithm is also adding the numbers by Place Value. We also did rounding and compensating which is rounding the number to the nearest ten. Reversing is doing the opposite operation. For example 35 - 25 = ? So you do addition 25 + __ = 35?
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

World Time
LI: apply inquiry, literacy and numeracy skills to learn about the Rugby World Cup
This week we are doing a Rugby World Cup Challenge. We still had to apply our literacy, inquiry, and numeracy skills. The task we were doing right now was trying to figure out the rugby finals time from heaps of the time zones. We had to find it out in the Hapan Standard Time, New Zealand Standard Time, and more.
AM stands for Anti Meridian and PM stands for Post Meridian. Anti Meridian means before midday and Post Meridian means after midday. We also learnt that if a country is big it would have different time zones. For example Australia has two different time zones, the east coast has the Australian Eastern Standard Time, the west coast has the Western Australian Standard Time.

How to tell the time?
LI: to tell the time on an analogue clock
For Maths I learned how to tell the time. I learnt by using a mini clock that you could change the time with. So with those mini clocks we played a game. Our teacher would shout out a time and we would have to put the time on the mini clock as fast as we can. For our DLO (Digital Learning Object) we had to make a poster on how to read time. We also used a Clock Face Generator to help us with it.

Time Vocabulary
LI: to convert between analog and digital time
This week for Maths we did more about Time. Our DLO (Digital Learning Object) was to write a list of Time Vocabulary's. While we wrote the words that are in our Time Vocabulary we also had to write the definition. I got some words from a site called Enchanted Learning. There were also some words I never knew like horology, and other words.

Analog and Digital Time
LI: convert between analogue and digital clocks
This week we were learning about clocks. So we learned how to tell time. What we did for our Must Do was to tell out typical day in time order. So we would wake up in 7 o'clock or eating breakfast at 8:00 and more. We learned that AM meant Anti Meridian and PM stands for Post Meridian.
