Tiny House

LI: to complete the Summer Learning Journey
For this task we look at Tiny Houses, which is essentially a house that is smaller. Tiny houses are about 100 - 500 square feet. We then watched a bunch of house tours on the tiny houses on a site. So the task was to write about if we wanted to live in a tiny house and why. The task was based off of Michelle Dickinson who is a Nano - scientist, who is a scientist who works on small things. She also does amazing shows on science around schools in New Zealand.

I would live in a Tiny House because it has all the things people have in a regular home. Like furniture and the essential items. You can also find creative ways to save space. Like in one video the stairs were also a drawer, and the bed was a wardrobe. You just lift the bed and you have your clothes. Its also easier and quicker to get around.

  1. Tiny houses are not for everyone Chris - and that includes me! However, Mr Collins and I are off to try a yurt for a few days soon... Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  3. Kia ora Chris! Olive again. How are you doing this afternoon?

I’d love to live in a tiny house. I think it would be excellent to have everything in one place. It would also be really nice to travel around the country so easily! I think Tiny Houses provide a really interesting perspective on how to maximise space and minimise the use of clutter! I think I’d like to live in one someday. Would you?

I think you’ve provided some really excellent points about Tiny Houses. Ka pai on being so thoughtful. I really like how you recognised that, that, though small, Tiny Houses provide the same uses as a regular house. Well done.

    Keep up the great blogging!

    Ngā mihi,
    Olive

  5. Malo e lelei Chris! Olive couldn't have said it better about tiny houses, and I completely agree with all her points. Living in a Tiny house actually seems really exciting, although it might not be for everyone. It definitely has the advantages of an organised, comfy, and easy home space. Even the tiny house in the picture you provided looks very spacious and homey! Did you take a look at the designs on the build tiny websites? There are some really lovely ones!

  6. Hey Chris,
I like your explanation on why you would want to live in a tiny house. I agree with what Heather said - living in a tiny house would probably not be for me. I personally like the space a regular house has. Where in the world would you like to live in your tiny house? Also, would you make it moveable (like the one in the picture) or stuck in one place? Keep up the good work.
