Food Technology (Week 1)

LI: to learn knife skills 



This week for Technology, we did Food Tech with Mrs Heka at Tamaki College. This week we were making colourful fruit salads, and by making that we were also going to learn knife skills. We first started off by pouring yogurt into a measuring cup until it filled up to one cup. We then got our fruits for the fruit salad, which were yellow ad green kiwifruits, grapes, and oranges. We cut up the grapes into halfs. We then cut the ends of both the orange and kiwifruits. We cut the ends so we could make it stand up still when we cut the skin. We cut the skin, by starting to cut it where the skin was. We then cut the skin down slowly so we didn't cut off any of the fruit. When we cut off the skin of the orange, we started slicing the orange into segments so we could fit it into our cups. We then finished it off by layering the yogurt and the fruit.
