I commented on Josephs Blog. He was blogging his Daily 6.

KiwiSport

LI: to learn skills about badminton
This week I did Kiwi sport.
Our Badminton teacher's name was called "Kevin".
We did a warm up and it was Stuck in the Mud. But it was his own version. If someone got tagged and you want to free them you just clap you hands between their legs, then tap their hands then they are free. Then we did skills, two of them and then lastly we would alternate the two skills. Next was trick-shots. We did two of them.

Leadership

LI: to use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into text
This week I did a Template. It was about Leadership. I did a Main Idea summary. I had to write 3 vital ideas, 4 very important ideas, and important ideas. Next was summarising. I had 20 important words, and picked 6 ones from them and made the six into sentences. Then I did Evaluating. I wrote down what the text was about, what interesting facts I learned, and a question I have after reading the article.

Recount checking

The First Badminton Lesson
This morning I went to the first Kiwisport lesson of the term. We went to the hall where we would be doing Badminton. As we got there we sat down and our teacher introduced himself. His name was “Kevin”. Following that Kevin told us we were going to play “Stuck in the Mud” but it was his own version. If someone got tagged and you want to free him or her you have to clap between their legs, then tap their hands. The people who were the taggers were Charlize and Matthew. I got tagged once and saved some people.

Next Kevin told us what were the equipment called and told us to get a racquet and a shuttle. He told us some safety rules about the equipment. Kevin told us not to “Swing the racquet randomly, and not to hit the racquet on the floor because it could break, also not to hit the shuttle to high and aim it at someone, and if the shuttle is near a person stop trying to hit it or it could hurt someone”.
He told us two grips called “Four hand grip and back hand grip”. If you couldn’t remember the names of the grips it could just be, back hand grip is like holding a frying pan. Four hand grip is like shaking someone’s hand.

Later on we were doing some skills. The first skill we were going to do was back hand grip. We had to throw the shuttle up then juggle it on the racquet. It was really hard doing it. Kevin gave us a challenge to juggle the shuttle on the racquet 10 times in a row or more. I only did 7 in a row. I felt proud of myself. Next one was a grip but we had to twist our arm a little bit to the right. He gave uas the challenge to juggle the shuttle on the racquet 10 times in a row or more. Then we had to alternate the two of them and juggle the shuttle on the racquet 10 times in a row or more! While we were doing it, I was think how did  when they had their first lesson?

After that we did some trickshots. It was only two, but they were so hard! The first trickshot was throwing the shuttle up juggling it a little then holding your racquet at your back then the shuttle bouncing on your racquet. Next trickshot was juggling your shuttle then holding the racquet between your legs then the shuttle landing on the racquet, then keep on juggling it. It was realistically nearly impossible for me to do it!! After that if we wanted to we could try to alternate the two trickshots together. I was thinking how do they do this so well, it looks so easy?

Unfortunately that was all the time we had so we put the equipment back and thanked Kevin for teaching us Badminton skills and trick-shots. We got into a line then went back to class.

LI: to revise a piece of writing and to edit and check a piece of writing
This week I wrote a piece of writing in 40 minutes and checked a edited it. It was a really stressing 40 minutes for me. It was really hard. Luckily this was a practised. I checked my own piece of writing and checked it with a rubric. My score was 26.

LI: to add and subtract fractions of the same size unit
Today I made a poster of equivalent fractions. It was really fun making it. We also practised adding and subtracting fractions that have different denominator.

Add and Subtract Fractions Video

LI: to add and subtract fractions from the same unit size.
This week I made a video instructing how to add and subtract fractions. It was really cool. I used Screencastify to make the video. You can add it on Google chrome.

Local Community Roles

LI: to know our local community
This is a slide of our community, we had inner, middle , and outer. Inner is someone you see everyday, for example your family. Middle is people you see regularly, like...
Teacher and friends. Outer is people you never seen but made a impact on your life, like the Police. If there were no Police there would be craziness! These are the roles of our community.

Well - Being

LI: to use a range of comprehension strategies and to go deeper into a text
Today I went to a Google slide and there were some categories I had to do. The first one was Main Idea. I had to write down three vital ideas, four very important ideas, and important ideas. The next one was summarising. I had to write down 20 words from the article and choose the 6 most important ones from the 20. With those six words I had to make a few sentence's. The last one was evaluating. I had to write down what the article was about. What interesting facts did I find in the article or text. Then I had to write down what questions did I have after reading this.

LI: to learn how to retell or summarise a story
Today I was reading a book called Captain America and the Tomorrow Army and had to summarise part of the story I read in 15 min. It was a really cool story.
