Auckland Museum

LI:  To learn the teachings of our tupuna (ancestors) and the history of New Zealand's native people and their land.

Before going to the Museum we had a challenge or a quiz for the trip, and we had to complete it and find out the answers during the trip. It was like a scavenger hunt. Throughout the day we added extra questions as there were too much people figuring out the answers too quickly. At the end of the day we went from 6 to 10 questions. Winning this quiz would result in getting a prize.

When we first got into the museum we were introduced to the museum and the rules. But firstly we had morning tea before adventuring the place. Ngarimu, one of our advisers taught us a lot of the weapons and equipment used from the Maori. We then had Kingi, another one of our advisers taught us about the meaning of the carvings in the marae, and taught us about the Treaty of Waitangi. After we had a bit of exploring we went for lunch. After lunch we learnt the Ka Mate Haka and 7 different Taiaha moves.
