Peruasive Speech Practise

Persuasive speech plan

My topic: Kids should have more recess
My argument: To let kids have a longer recess because they can get along wihh more people and with their friends.
Audience: Teachers

How will you greet your audience?
Greetings teachers
How will you introduce your topic in a catchy way?
Today I am going to talk about why recess should be longer at schools.
Write a rhetorical question to make the audience think about your topic:
Don’t you people want kids to be more social and active. They can be really close with their friends. Isn’t that what you want!!
What is your opinion? Write a statement that clearly states your point of view:
Kids should have more recess at school so we can be more social or active, isn’t that what you want your kids to be like! They can be sooo close to their friends they won’t go on technology.
List some facts or statistics that support your opinion:
  1. You can be healthy
  2. You can be really social or active
  3. You can also be really close with your friends because you have been with them for a long time
Do you have a solution to the problem?
Yes the solution would be to just let kids have a longer recess.
Say your opinion again and warn the audience what will happen if they don’t agree with your opinion.
If you don’t agree with me guess what will happen. Your kids will just be watching the internet their whole life! How are they going to be a good parent. Just think about their future! THINK ABOUT IT!!

My topic: Alcohol should be really expensive
My argument:
Audience: Government

How will you greet your audience?
Greetings Government
How will you introduce your topic in a catchy way?
Today I am going to talk about why alcohol should be more expensive.
Write a rhetorical question to make the audience think about your topic:
Alcohol should be more expensive because people who drink it all day are drunk. But if alcohol was really really expensive they can’t buy it because they don’t have that much cash/money.
What is your opinion? Write a statement that clearly states your point of view:
My point of view is that alcohol really should be expensive because they would just have to work harder for money. Then that much people don’t drink anymore.
List some facts or statistics that support your opinion:
  • A lot of people don’t get drunk
  • So that, that much people don’t go to jail because of alcohol.
Do you have a solution to the problem?
Is that to make alcohol, wine and anything bad expensive.
Say your opinion again and warn the audience what will happen if they don’t agree with your opinion.
If you don’t agree with me people will be drunk and they might have no control of their own body. Someone in your family

My topic: Why can’t kids stay up longer
My argument: Why can’t kids stay up longer at night.
Audience: Teacher

How will you greet your audience?
Greetings
How will you introduce your topic in a catchy way?
Why can’t kids stay up late it’s really not fair
Write a rhetorical question to make the audience think about your topic:
If it’s not healthy why do parents stay up late. Huh Huuh.
What is your opinion? Write a statement that clearly states your point of view:
What I mean to say is that kids should be allowed to stay up late. They can sleep when they are tired, and again if it's not healthy why do parents stay up late.
List some facts or statistics that support your opinion:
  1. If it’s not healthy why do parents do it
  2. We could be doing a big essay/homework
Do you have a solution to the problem?
We could put our alarm on until the morning so that wakes us up
Say your opinion again and warn the audience what will happen if they don’t agree with your opinion.
If it doesn’t happen the kids won’t learn how to stay up late. What if they have a job when they grow up and they have to stay there all night and day. They sleep in their job.

LI: to create a persuasive
What we did today is make 3 persuasive speech. We wrote the speeches on a template. The things we had to do was our Greetings, Rhetorical Question, What is your opinion for you point of view, listing some facts to backup your opinion, do you have a solution for the problem, and last of all warning the audience if they don't agree with your opinion.
What we did before that was go on a Padlet and we had to write some topics, and had to pick 3 topics to write about.
