Today I did a activity for Day 2 and it was about the Wharepuni. They want us to compare our own house to the Wharepuni. What are the differences? What is the same?

Summer Learning Journey: Day 1 Activity 2

Today I did my 2nd Activity for Day 1 and this is about sailing. Leaving your home and crossing a thousand miles in a Waka getting to New Zealand. We also had to send a short letter to a friend of what we feel while crossing a thousand miles.

Dear Friend, we have finally landed on New Zealand, throughout that whole journey it was rough. Comparing to our homeland they are already starting winter. There are also some people who are here as well. I'll admit....... it is kinda rough and uncomfortable here. People have been camping and hunting here. PS: there a bird with a long beak and no tail without wings. Weird am I right.

Summer Learning Journey: Day 1 Activity 1

Today I did the first activity for the Summer Learning Journey, our activity was to read a story (Maui and the Giant Fish) and had to find some interesting facts, then write it down and blog it.

1. The Giant fish came from their Grandmother that said it would be gifted to them.
2. Maui's brothers are really selfish.
3. Maui's brother also wouldn't let Maui go fishing with them.

Summer Learning Journey: Day 1 Bonus Activity

Today I am doing a Bonus activity. I had to blog if I ever wanted to participate in Waka Ama one day, Why/why not.
I would definitely do it so I could experience what it is like to be in the race, and also because I want to be fit. To my thought I think it is really intense. Is it fun? Is it tiring?

This week I was making a T.V News Report with a group. I was working with: Alex, Jack, Joseph, Fau, and Julian.
It was really fun making the T.V Report. I was doing International, Alex was doing Weather, Jack was the Anchorman, Fau was the Actor or Interviewer, and Joseph was doing Sports, and Julian was doing Entertainment.

This week is the last week of this activity. It is really fun and intense because you are trying to get a lot of money. So when we started of we had 50 dollars to begin with. We also had to pay Rent, Income Tax, Insurance and more. You could also get a Reward, Caught someone cheating. e could also get some money if we could finish a DLO, Prototec, and more.

LI: to learn how to play badminton
This week was the final session for the year. It was really sad because badminton was so fun. But the beginning was "I am so bad!", but now I am like "I am so good!". So for the last session we played a warm up game and that game was Octopus. Me and Charlize were the taggers. We nearly got everyone out except Karlos and Matthew. After that Kevin (Kiwi Sport Teacher) showed us a cool trick. I barely do it. I only did it twice IN A ROW but no one SAW! After that we played One v One/1 v 1 if you lose one point you are out, but if it hits the ceiling or roof, replay, if twice that means you are out. Next we did Two v Two/2 v 2 if you lose two points you are out. When we did that for a few minutes it was unfortunately the time to go back to class. Before we went we said "Thank you Kevin!", and gave him a applause.

This week I made a video of my opinion of what was going to happen after the Zombie Apocalypse, but all Medical and Health services are gone. What would happen. So I make a script first then do the video.

This week I did my Daily 6 and it was the Keyboarding Drills. It was Lvl 2. It is pretty easy doing the keyborading drills.

Remake the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, you could not hear a sound, not even a mouse.

We put something on the floor to hear someone's footsteps, before that we had everything prepped.
We were excited and were shot up with glee, we wanted to see.
We wanted to see that fat jolly man, we tried everytime we can.  

The children were tight and nestled in their beds, while dreaming of the beaches around their head.
While mom sleeps in peace I didn’t want to take a nap, but had to stop and think and went for a good summer nap.

There was a creak and something was swinging.
I saw a swinging window, I went and threw the pillow.
It was my little sister messing around with her blister.
She tripped and accidentally opened the window

If you thought that was going to be Santa, well guess what he is a Fairytale, you are probably crying and looking pale.
If you don’t believe me those presents under the trees, are from your parents.
Sorry that I ruined your childhood.

Today I made a remake of the Night before Christmas.
It was pretty easy but not completely.
I just had to make up rhymes that relate to Christmas.
There is a unpleasant surprise at the end as well.

LI: to learn how to respect each other in different ways

This week I wen to Kiwi Can with Group A. That day was Fun Day! We got to play so much game. The first thing we did was a little recap of what happened last week. Then we got into groups I was with Nonbibs. After that we went straight to a game. The first game we played was kinda like dodge ball except a little bit of people and you couldn't run with the ball. A group had to be the taggers and then the other team were the runners. We had to pass the ball to get the runners out. Next game was we had to get in a circle and a person from the other team had to go into each others team and had a cone to guard. I was guarding a cone and  I was on a long streak but unfortunately someone knocked down a cone. Next game was a game that we had to make a tower by the way we called our tower the Big Cake. One of us had to guard the Big Cake/Tower and that was me. While my team memebers tried to knock down the our nemesis's tower. Then we won. But that was all the time we had so we went back to class for Morning Tea

This week I was doing Prototec it is a Maths Game that helps you with different stages. It is pretty easy. I got a certificate for doing Stage 5 and got 96%.

This week I was playing Table Conga which is a Online Maths Game. I was doing my Times tables and it was the 9 times tables.

LI: to learn how to play Badminton.
This week we went to Badminton and when we got there we started with a warm up game. Our warm up game was Stuck in the Mud. Our taggers were Akuhata and Te Rangimarie. We were playing for  Ten - ish  minutes. When it was over Kevin (Kiwisport Teacher) showed us another skill it was like the Forehand Lift except this time its the Backhand Lift. We went in partners and did a some practices so one would throw the shuttle at us, while the other person holds the racket and does the Backhand Lift. When we finished that we did Single vs Single or One vs One. So we would be by ourselves and versed each other. After we did that for ten minutes we spended a anther ten minutes on Two vs Two so we would verse each other in twos. After we did that it was unfortunately all the time we had. Next week was going to be the last session for Badminton

This week I made a Google Slide and picked Three Roles from the templates I did with partners, but roles that are not in the same group. I did Librarian, Builder, and a Firefighter. What I had to do was put information about each of the roles, but I had to write a question, How do each of the roles interact with your friends and whanau.

Thats My Money

 LI: to learn more maths to earn more money
For this week and next week I will be doing this activity called "That's My Money!". What this is about is that we have to learn different types of Maths or Math activities and we could get some money. We also needed a Back Account to keep track of how much money we had. We also had some disasters so we would have to pay Fines, Insurance, there is also a disaster so we could lose a heap of money. We also learned how to use and spend money without ending up with bankruptcy.

This week for writing we went into to groups of three's and got three sheets of large paper. We all wrote a starter or the beginning into one of the sheets of papers, and then we would give the sheets of paper around and had to write a continuation for our partner, and by the way our partner could not see the first paragraph. Our story was based on two aliens a boy and a girl, they were playing outside and their pet acted strange, and the pet destroyed their city and they had to find a hero to save their city. Then we switched again until it was the third paragraph. Then we did the fourth paragraph and did a Illustration for each of the paragraphs on a Google Slide.
