Whakatauki

LI: to learn the language Te Reo Maori

This week is Maori Language Week so we did a task for Maori Language Week. Our task was to pick a "Whakatauki" and explain the meaning of it. A Whakatauki is a proverb which is a piece of advice said in a kind of metaphor. The whakatauki I did was "In a withered tree a flower blooms". Which means whenever you are in a dark place there is always light and hope.

Te Reo App

LI: to learn the language Te Reo Maori

For Maori Language Week we embraced the Maori Language and culture and did Maori Language Week and Te Reo Maori tasks. One of the tasks were to make an app. In the app I did with my partner we made a quiz. On each quiz we had three questions and we had four topics on our Te Reo Maori quiz. The topics we did were Technology, Days of the week, the Time, and Greetings.

Maori Language Week History

LI: to learn about the history of the Maori Language Week

This week is Maori Language Week so we were learning about Maori Language History, and Te Reo Maori. Maori Language Week is the week where we learn and celebrate the language Te Reo Maori, which is a official language in New Zealand. In my DLO (Digital Learning Object), we showcased the language Te Reo Maori & the history of Te Reo Maori. We showed the timeline and milestones of the language of Te Reo Maori.

Maori Name Places

LI: to make a map showing the maori landmarks

For Maori Language Week we were doing tasks that helped us embrace the Maori language. Maori Language week is the week of celebrating and learning Te Reo Maori, which is a official language in the land of Aotearoa, New Zealand. The first task we did was the map of New Zealand and all the cities with Maori names. We explained the meanings of each of the Maori names. In our Map we show both the North Island and South Island.
