LI: to identify the purpose of narratives and to also identify the underlying morals/themes/explanations in myths, legends, and fairytales.
This week we learned about Myths around the world. We had four choices of myths they were:
Izanagi and Izanami from Japan
Mahishasura and Durga from India
Lac Long Quan from Vietnam
Cuchulainn from Ireland
I picked Izanagi and Izanami from Japan. The story is that there is there were two people called Izanami and Izanagi. They came from the heavens and were married. They gave birth to islands, and gods. One day Izanami gave birth to the fire god. She had a burning fever and then died. Izanagi went crazy and went to the Underworld to get her. But she looked hideous and then were divorced. Life and Death were away from each other. We had to make a DLO about Izanagi and Izanami.
