LI: to identify the underlying morals/themes/explanations in myths, legends, and fairy - tales.
This week we learned about Maui. Maui is a trickster demi god. We learned about him and read a story about him. One story was Maui and the sun. Another was a story about Maui catching fishes so big they became the Polynesian islands. For our DLO we had to write the main purpose of the story. We also did a reading notes. We had to do the Read Strategies before, during, and after reading. We did the Reading Strategies with the Maui Stories.
