LI: to complete the Summer Learning Journey
This task is from the Summer Learning Journey. This years topic for the Summer Learning Journey is Change - makers. The task was to imagine to write a letter to Jacinda Ardern (New Zealands Prime Minister) on an issue that we get to decide. The task was based off of Jacinda Ardern and how she as the Prime Minister of New Zealand has to make important decisions on different issues, and talks to different people about the issue and see it by their perspective. The issue I picked was about Smoking.

ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed reading your letter to Jacinda Ardern about smoke. You have a detailed letter which is persuasive. I agree with how we should stop having cigarettes. My issue was about homeless people, how we should give the important needs to them. I like how you have explained what you have done for this activity. Did you find this activity difficult? Why?

Hello Chris! This is a really important issue/problem that you've chosen to talk about. And they are definitely more than one point of view. I agree with your factual information of why it's bad, but I would like to also know what causes smoking from someone who knows...Great work!

ReplyDeleteHow was your weekend? I had the pleasure of working at the ASB Tennis Classic that is taking place in Auckland and I even got to watch Serena Williams win her Singles match final.
I think that your letter to Jacinda Ardern is very formal and sincere which is super impressive! I also agree with your ideas and appreciate your worry for our country and our planet! Did you know that New Zealand plans to be smoke free by 2025? How do you think we can achieve this?

ReplyDeleteI like your letter to Jacinda Ardern. I also think that smoking is a pretty big issue across the world because so many people are dying or getting affected by it. Also, like you said, people just throw their cigarette butts on the floor, leading to some areas covered in them. Keep up the good work.
