LI: to complete the Summer Learning Journey
This task is from the Summer Learning Journey. This years topic for the Summer Learning Journey is Change - makers. The task is to imagine that the government was going to change the $10 dollar note with another New Zealand Women, and we were to pick which women it would be. I picked Jean Batten. She was one of the most famous New Zealanders in the 1930s. She was absolutely amazing she changed the perspective of women and broke many world records. She has proved people wrong time and time again by being one of the most phenomenal pilots.
Hi Chris, this is Mrs Collins from Manaiakalani and I'll be commenting on blogs over term break. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. I really like the proposal you shared about a new $10.00 note - could you design a new one and post it on the thread? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!
ReplyDeleteHello Chris! I like this idea, as we've been over Jean Batten in one of the earlier activities. And I agree that she was an amazing person, and a big inspiration to New Zealand. She would be a great choice for the 10$ note, although I personally thought Kate Edger was another New Zealand woman who did a great job at impacting other people. Could you include a picture of Jean, or something that gives us a visual of who she was? Otherwise nice work!
ReplyDeleteHi Chris!
ReplyDeleteThis activity you did was great, Great job for staying active with the Summer Learning Journey! What was the hardest part of this activity?
Blog you later!

Hi Chris,
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job explaining why you would pick Jean Batten. I also think that she would be a great choice to replace Kate Sheppard on the ten dollar note. Her achievements in aviation were amazing. Can you think of anyone else that might also be a good choice? Well done.
