Fishy False Teeth

LI: to enhance and advance my reading skills

Our third Summer Learning Journey of Week 1 is called "Fishy False Teeth". In this activity we had to finish a template of an article. In the template we had to write what each character did, and what role they played in the story. At the end of the template we had to imagine what they would say and make it into a comic. It was really fun to do, especially with a partner.

  1. Greetings Chris,

I really liked reading your blog post today! I like how you have explained the story in your words! In this activity I really liked that we got a chance to portray the story on our own.

I agree, working with a buddy was really fun and knowledgeable at the same time as we could share each others opinion. My favourite character throughout the story was the taxi driver as he added a twist to story also making it more funny. Who was your favourite character?

    Keep up the great work!

    1. Kia Ora Sakshi! Once again thank you for the comment. Thank you for the compliments! For me as well my favorite character was the taxi driver. He was kind of why the story started as he was the one who pulled the prank.
What is your favorite comic or book?

      Thanks!

    2. Kia ora Chris,

Thank you for replying to my answer I really appreciate it. I agree, the role of the taxi driver was really funny. My favourite comic is Amulet because is is very mysterious and after reading every page I want to read it more making it more interesting. My favourite book or novel is the Harry Potter series. I have read all its novels and I like that it has a different story in every series and it keep on adding new characters every time.

Have you read the comic or novel I have said? If yes, who is your favourite character and what do you like about them? If no, Which is your favourite comic/novel and why do you like it?

Thank you! I am looking forward for your reply.

  2. Kia Ora Chris!

Your comic strip is very well written and a has a bit humor as well, which is good! I can see that you and your partner worked very well together and had to think a bit outside of the box for this task. I have also done this task, me and my partner also added a bit of humor to entertain the readers.

If you were one of the 2 characters in this story, which one do you prefer yourself to be? Like, which character would you most likely relate to and why?

Keep up the great work throughout the Summer Learning Journey!

    1. Hi Fau, thanks for the comment. I feel that if I was any of the two characters I'd be the guy who would want to go fishing. I feel that I am a positive an optimistic person among my peers.
Who is your favorite character from a story?

      Thanks!

  3. Hi Chris,
I thought your blog post was really interesting to read and your comic is really similar to the actual video. My favorite part was when one of the two laughed at the other one. This blog post is really well done and it also has a little humor to entertain the reader. If you were to change the story line, what would you change it to?

    Great job Chris!

  4. Hello Chris,

  5. Kia ora Chris,

    Benjamin here from SLJ.

Your comic strip is very funny! I can’t tell if the old-man (whose teeth fell out) is nervous laughing because his teeth fell out or whether he is truly happy about it! Haha.

Who did you do this comic strip with? A friend or family?

Great work! Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff this summer :)

    Mā te wā,
    Benjamin.
