Brand Names

LI: to complete the Summer Learning Journey
This task is from the Summer Learning Journey. This years topic for the Summer Learning Journey is Change - makers. The activity was to read this article about where some famous New Zealand brands got their names from. Brand names are very important to companies as this is how they are known. The task was to tell how Twenty Seven Names got their name. We also had to tell whether we think this is a good name for them, or if they should change it to something else.

Twenty Seven Names Brand was originally called Loves Lies Bleeding in 2006 but they renamed it when they found out it was copyrighted by a US Company. So as a homage to the 27 people who supported their business along the way they've called it Twenty Seven Names. I think the name is really cool because it has a meaning behind it.

  1. Did you know Christ that...Rachel Easting and Anjali Burnett met at primary school. After studying art and fashion respectively the pair began working on small scale projects before launching their brand 'twenty-seven names'. The label name is a homage to the list of 27 people who helped to get their label off the ground.

  2. Hi Chris!,
I have enjoyed reading about whether you like the name "Twenty Seven Names" or not. I also think this name is cool, because it has a interesting background/story. I don't think Twenty Seven Names should change their name at all. If you had a clothing brand, what would it be called? and why?

    Nice Work!

  4. Hello Chris! You provide a great explanation on how their brand got their name. I really hope they keep "Twenty-Seven Names", because it's such a unique name! It says a lot about them, and who they are. And I especially love how it pays homage to the 27 people on the list. But you don't really have much to say about why you like they're name, and if they should keep it or not...Why do you think this is a good name for them?

  5. Hi Chris,
I like the information that you have found on the brand Twenty Seven names. I found it interesting when I found out that they named their brand after the number of people that helped them start their business up. What exactly do you think those twenty seven people did? Keep up the good work.
