Street Art

LI: to complete the Summer Learning Journey
This task is from the Summer Learning Journey. This years topic for the Summer Learning Journey is Change - makers. In 2011, the city of Christchurch experienced a huge earthquake. A lot of the central city buildings fell down. It takes a long time to rebuild a city, and there are areas of Christchurch where buildings are still damaged and need to be rebuilt. Street artists in Christchurch have seen this as a chance to create artwork that helps to make the city beautiful again. You can see lots of amazing street art in Christchurch at the moment! So we went on a site that shows the street art, and the task was to pick two and write down the similarities and differences.

  1. Hi Chris, Mrs Collins from Manaiakalani commenting on blogs over term break again. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. I really like the venn diagram you have created about two awesome artists- do you want to be an artist when you leave school? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  2. Hello Chris!,
What a great Venn diagram you have created about the Claire Foxtons Art and the Wongi Freak Wilson Art. I have enjoyed reading both your Venn diagram and your explanation of what you did for this activity. Which piece of art is your favourite?

    Fantastic Work!

  3. Mōrena Chris! How are you doing today? The weather isn’t very good here in Auckland, isn’t it? It’s very grey outside and too windy for my taste.

I really liked reading about the similarities and differences between your two artists of choice. I can see you’ve given a lot of thought to this activity and included some very interesting points. You’ve chosen some incredible artists to talk about. I think they both produce some amazing street art. Which piece is your favourite?

Just a reminder you need to include two screenshots, one from the artwork of each artist you are talking about. This is so readers can know what you mean when you talk about the similarities and differences between the two. Please can you edit your post so we can award you full marks. Let us know you have edited by replying to our comment below! Can’t wait to see what you get up to!

    Keep up the great blogging!

    Ngā mihi,
    Olive

  4. Hi Chris! This is a very informative and interesting Venn Diagram you have created. I really enjoyed reading about the differences and similarities you found out, especially one of them being that they were both made around the same time! Which of the paintings are your favorite and why? Good job!

  5. Hi Chris!
I enjoyed reading your blogpost! Your DLO is nice. Can you please add a photo of the street art? It is cool that the two street arts are created in November of 2017! The similarities and differences are interesting to read. Would you consider being an artist when you grow up? Thank you!

    Good Job Chris!
